Good luck IRON DAD!!!!!!

So this morning Ryan is heading off to the IRONMAN!!!!!! I'm so excited for him. from the first time we met he told me this was a life long goal of his and I can't believe he's going to be doing it. He has been working so hard and I am so Exited/scared to death for him.

we've been planning on bringing the kids with us to help cheer him on, but last minute Ryan decided maybe it's more work than fun to drag 3 kids to a 12 HOUR RACE! and I quickly agreed. I will be really sad that the kids won't get to see him finish, but I am so excited that I will get to chase him down a lot more and see him at more spots in the race.

we had to stage some post race photos of Ryan and the kids to make up for it.

OH if these shoes could talk!!!! (I think they'd be dead, from all the miles they've ran)

GOOD LUCK RYAN!!!!!!

water fun!

So last Saturday was so nice out, and the kids kept begging to get the pool out. we finally let them. it was still pretty cold for swimming but my neighbor and I kept pouring buckets of warm water from the house to take the edge off the icy water. They ended up staying out almost the whole day. and the next day, mom of the year (aka me) realized I didn't put any sunscreen on them, poor Tyson was pretty sun burned. he's doing better now. and sad to admit it but he even asked me if he should put sun screen on and I told him he'd be fine.

P.S Ashley don't ask for your pool back it had a hole and I threw it away. love ya. thanks for the few hours of fun.

this is one of the kids favorite things to do. our tub is a jetted tub so we put a little soap in there and get tons of bubbles. they LOVE it. the next morining after this picture was take Bailee went to take a bath and I think dumped my whole bottle of shampoo (expensive shampoo at that) in the tub and turned on the jets. it was a nightmare. I should have taken a picture. bubbles were overflowing everywhere. I think she learned her lesson.

Take me out to the ball game

Last week Ryan got tickets to the bees game. We had such a good time. all of the nieces and nephews went. and so funny by chance we ran into my brother Ryan there. so he came and sat with us. he is so cute with the kids. They LOVE There uncles so much. it's so cute now because if you ask Davis if he went to the baseball game he'll yell RY RY!!!! because he wants you to know his uncle Ry Ry was there.

I couldn't believe how good the kids were, they were cheering and people watching and everything. I'm mad at myself because we left right before the 7th inning stretch. they would have loved that. Ryan and I were getting tired but I think the kids would have lasted a lot longer. next time we go we'll have to make it at least until then.

Davis especially loved seeing the bee.

What a fun night we'll for sure have to make a few more games this season...

Easter egg hunt.

Grandma Sally had a fun Easter egg hunt set up for all the grand kids.

Poor Tyson kept tipping his basket over and losing all of his eggs.

Cute little Davi would find one egg and sit down and eat the candy out of it before moving on to another. I love His age.

Tyson's preschool let the whole family go in and see the baby chicks that hatched from the eggs they were taking care of. we also got to see the Easter bunny.

Happy Easter.

Riverton 1/2 Marathon

So Ryan ran the Riverton 1/2 Marathon last saturday. He's been training hard for his Ironman Triathlon which is now less than 1 month away. He's been a training fool. He wakes up between 5 and 6 every morning to work on 2 of the 3 events each day. It's crazy how close the race is. I keep telling him to up our life insurance:) I'm a little worried for him. this race is just so intense. But I am so proud of all his hard work. this is one of the things I love so much about him. He pushes himself so hard. He's been so good to do his workouts so early in the morning so he'll have time with me and the kids at night. we're so proud of him and excited for the big day.
so for part of his training He ran this race with his brother and parents and our brother in law. I think he did awesome. He was 4th overall and only 2 seconds behind 3rd place. His time was 1 Hour 19 minutes which he said is something like 6:04 per mile. (let me remind you that I am super happy when I run 3 miles at a 10 minute pace)

This is about Mile 1...they look like they're having too much fun.

Here are some pictures from around Mile 4....still looking strong

This is Ryan at about Mile 10. He was slowly gaining on the guy in 3rd place he'd been trying to catch him since mile 8.

This is Ryan at mile 13 in the last stretch. He almost caught the guy in 3rd place but finished about 2 seconds behind him.

Getting a post-race massage. The other picture is his Ryan and our brother in law Chris and his brother Jeff. They all did awesome. Ryan was 4th overall, Jeff was 5th and Chris was 9th.

Ryan's parents both ran the race as well. Great Job everyone!!!!!

Favorite day of the year!!!

So I've been excited all week to try and pull off all sorts of pranks on everyone today..... here is what we cam up with.

I can thank America's funniest videos's for this first one. I was so excited to try and pull it off. I"m sure you've all heard that if you put mentos into diet coke it makes a huge explosion. so I figured out how to tie a piece of string around a mento and then it put it in the lid of the coke. then when you open the coke the mento drops in and coke goes everywhere.
well I got it all riged up last night, and had anxiety all night that the mento was going to drop and a coke bomb would go off scaring us all.
so finally I woke up this morning and convinced my mom to come over. the second she got here I asked her if she would poor me a drink.
(ANTICLIMACTIC ENDING) I was so excited trying not to show suspicion. all for nothing. the coke I used had been opened before so it just caused some extra fizz. so depressing.
so I ended up making another riged coke and let the kids open it out side. they loved it. it totally exploded everywhere.
SOMEONE PLEASE play this trick on someone and let me know about it. I'm so bummed ours didn't work.

This was a fun one for the kids. We gave them each a black eye and took a picture of one sibling from each family, then we texted the picture to each of their dads telling them the other one had kicked them in the face. : after each dad called or texted telling them there would be some serious consequences (dare I say no DS for a week) we texted them a picture of the other one saying now they both had a black eye. Finally the dads figured out. and the kids thought they were hilarious (I thought we were pretty funny too)

I love the attempt at a sad face

Bailee wasn't here this morning (she spent the night at grandma's) but when Tyson went to get dressed this is what he found in his drawers.

OH I love this day!!! and it's not over yet. hopefully I'll have a few more pictures to add. wish me luck.
