Random Events

Ok so there 's nothing too exciting going on with us, but I just wanted to show a few pictures and tell some funny stories about the kids.

This first picture is just the boys in their new Easter outfits. I love when the children's place gets there new easter clothes in. they are so cute. I haven't gotten Bailee her dress yet, I'm just planning on getting them one at a time. it kills me though because I know in like a month everything will be $5.oo. they have the best sales on their clothes. This picture is a tent the kids made last night. They were so excited that they made it. (and they did it all by themselves.) so we let them sleep in it. I can't believe they both fit in it. I think at around 11:00 Ryan moved them both into their beds, he was afraid one of them might roll over and it would come falling down on top of them.

So these are just a couple of funny Bailee stories.
Yesterday she asked me if her job around the house could be to protect Davis from Tyson. too funny. she actually is so patient with him. Ty, has such a hard time being soft with Davis he just gets so excited and attacks him. it's cute I tried to get it on video how she helps him. I heard her saying "ok Tyson remember what I told you, I know your just playing with him but you have to be soft" so this video that we are trying to down load kind-of shows the ending of their little conversation. it's kid of long, and shakey but I didn't want the kids to know I was recording them or they would act differently. it's just our day in a nut shell, Tyson being extra hyper and doing his little dance while Bailee is mothering.
it's funny you may hear Bailee asking if ty's pants smell like Gavin. (well don't worry Gavin, you don't smell weird) but I swear bailee has the nose of a blood hound. if we ever have something of someones like an article of clothes, she will sit and smell it and say it reminds her of that person. she's done it with both of her grandma's. she totally needs to be a detective.

so I have one more story. first I need to give you background then I will tell you our conversation. ok so when we first lived here (like 2 1/2 years ago) Bailee was only 3 years old. and she shut Tyson's finger in the door. and Tyson had to go and get stitches.
ok so today's conversation
Bailee: mom tell me a story of when Tyson got hurt. (side note, she was making me tell her stories of when everyone she Knew got hurt)
me: well one time you accidentally shut his finger in the door and he had to get stitches
Her: well did I get into trouble
me: no it was an accident
Her: well then why did dad put me into my room?
me: well because he told you not to shut the door and you shut it on Tyson's finger
Her: then he put me on my Dora couch huh?
Me: ya
her: why did you come and pick me up?
me: because you time out was over (side not again this was almost 3 YEARS ago)
her : and why did you go and call grandma sally
me: to tell her what had happened.
her : then we went to the doctors huh?
ok so anyways it went on a little longer, but I was just laughing that she remembered all of these little details. I swear she is just so observant. yeah she must get it from Ryan. Betsy and I always joke that I had her daughter, because that's so Betsy to notice things and so not me) I seriously don't ever pay any attention to any sort of detail so it kills me that she notices so much.

Tyson is just so funny, he has the hardest time, I think he just wants to wrestle with Davis now because he loves to wrestle with his Dad.. I think they will be such cute little buddies when Davis gets bigger. Tonight it was sweet. I was sitting on the couch, trying to get Davis to fall asleep and Tyson came up to me and had a sad little face and said " I need someone to snuggle with can I snuggle with you and Davis. and then he just scooched right next to us and snuggled. I love that he is such a sweet little guy.

YES ANOTHER TAG

This one is a good one. and a good way to document what your kids were like at this age. Do 6 Random facts about all of your kids. So everyone that has kids I am tagging you. you'll be glad you did this in a year. you'll be able to look back and see what they were like.

BAILEE
1. She loves to clean. she most definitely didn't get this from me. she's so funny, she always comes up with rules to keep the house clean and then will come and tell me. like now she tells her friends when they come over that they can only play with one toy at a time so the toy room will stay clean. Last night she was lying in bed and I hear her yell oh no!!! then she jumped out of bed and in a very worried tone said "mom I left all of the Lincoln logs on the floor down stairs, I forgot to clean them up. I always catch her trying to organize random things like the silverware drawer, or any other kitchen or bathroom drawer. it's pretty funny. And it makes me excited because I think one day she will get this cleaning thing down and might really be a big help.

2. She loves to take care of both of her brothers. she loves to help Tyson get a drink or help him color or get dressed. they have such a cute relationship (when they aren't fighting.) and they really do get along pretty well. and with Davis, she loves to dress him, try to feed him (when he takes a bottle) carry him, make him laugh, help bath him, Basically anything you can do with a baby she likes to do.

3. She loves to do her hair and if I'm not looking she loves to sneak into my make-up (mostly just my lip gloss)I finally bought her some sparkley lip gloss so she would stay out of mine.

4. She is so observant. I have to be really careful of what I watch or say around her because she notices everything. and has about a million questions for everything.

5. she loves to read. she has become quite the little reader and speller (again obviously not from me) she loves to sound out words and try to spell or read them. it's so fun to watch her figure it
all out. She is just learning rhymes. it's funny sometimes she gets it and sometimes she doesn't. she'll say things like "I need to brush my teeth, my breath stinks. hey that rhymes" but she is getting the hang of it with other words.

6. she changes her clothes at least 2 times a day, which I have to say is a huge improvement from last year's 3or4 times. and she has gotten better about letting me HELP pick out her clothes. before I couldn't choose anything she wore now I have about a 5% say in what she will wear. another funny thing about Bailee is she is very sensitive to tags, socks, underwear, or any other thing that could cause any slight discomfort. although I think that has improved some. I finally got her to wear tights with the feet in them this winter, before I had to buy the kind that were feet-less.

TYSON

1. he is a very sweet and sensitive little guy. it was so cute a couple of days ago we were watching Game Day (that movie with the Rock as the foot ball player.) anyways there was a sad part in the movie where the little girl had to go home and leave her dad. well I looked over at Tyson and he had the saddest face so I asked him if he was ok and he came and sat on my lap, hugged me and just started to cry. He said he didn't want that girl to leave her dad. It was so sweet and sad. (side note, Bailee was so interested in the fact that he was crying so she had about a million questions as to why.)

2. He is a rule follower, He does not like to get into trouble. If he's being wild in the store and I can't get him to calm down, I just threaten to go and talk to the manager and he calms right down. Again I think it goes back to the sensitive thing but he even cries if Ryan raises his voice even a little bit.

3. He loves his sister. it's so funny, this almost happens every time we go to a public place. Bailee likes to linger and ignore me when I tell her it's time to go, so I have to pretend to leave. But it doesn't really work anymore because Tyson will bawl for his sister and beg me not to leave her. or sometimes Bailee will take off her seatbelt so I'll pretend to call the police, Tyson will just bawl for her to put it back on because he doesn't want her to get into trouble. (I think Bailee likes to do both of those things more because she knows she will get a reaction from Tyson, so I obviously need to find a new form of punishment.)

4. Tyson loves to play super Hero and make believe. He'll always put on his spiderman costume and have Bailee play like she's in trouble so he can rescue her. he also loves to watch this super hero cartoon (that is so dumb, it wasn't even made for kids, it uses all these grown up terms like Habius corpus which is some legal term) but he'll watch it over and over.

5. he loves to wrestle with his dad. it's so cute to watch them. He actually loves to wrestle with anyone, but mostly his daddy. He is always begging Ryan to wrestle with him.

6. I don't know that this is a good thing, But Tyson loves to play on playhouse Disney, and nick jr.com he loves to try and play little computer games. I bet if I let him he would play on them all day. so I just have to monitor how ofter he is playing on them.

DAVIS

1. Davis is just our bundle of joy. he makes all of us so happy. he is so smiley. it's so fun to try and get him to smile. He does it the most for his daddy.

2. Now he his laughing a lot as well. he loves when we tickle him with his toes or play pick a boo. I love to hear his laugh. it's the sweetest thing ever.

3. He is a pretty good sleeper. he was sleeping from 9:00 to 4:00 every night (before he got sick) and then he would wake up around 7:00. he still does really well though. it's so nice to only have to get up once a night.

4. it's so cute to hear Davis start to coo and talk. I love when I start talking to him and he'll just make his little baby sounds trying to talk back.

5. Davis is also a good eater. he loves to nurse. and I love to feed him. that's one of my favorite parts of having a baby. it's so nice to hold him close and just take that time to enjoy him.

6. Davis is growing so much, but I must say he is the smallest of all my babies. it's so funny because people alway comment on how chubby he is, and I think to my self you haven't seen chubby until you've seen Bailee at 3 months.

My kids truly are my life. They are always entertaining and making me laugh. they overlook all of my shortcomings and are so quick to forgive me if I happen to snap . I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be their mom. and again I know I make plenty of mistakes with them, but I know as their mom I'm still a work in progress. Thanks Kids for bringing so much happiness into dad's and my life.

Man Tag

ok, so my sister-in-law sent me this tag a while ago and I never did it (sorry Linds)I kept meaning to do it and never did, so I just got it again and wanted to finally answer it.

How long have you been married? 7 1/2 years (holy cow time goes fast.

How long did you date? about 8 months

Who eats more sweets? I wish I could say Ryan, but it's definitely me (he thinks of eating as a chore which is so weird to me)

Who said I love you first? Ryan did, it was on Valentines day about one month after we started dating. I said it about a month after that.

How old is he? 29

Who is taller? Ryan is, I say he's 5 ft. 8in. he says 5ft 9in

Who is smarter? he has to spell check each post, need I say more. (even though I joke about it I still don't think I'm a total idiot, I'm just challenged in the spelling department)

Who can sing better? Definitely Ryan, My mom once told me that I was the only person she could hear singing in church because I was just off tune. But now that I sing to my kids she told me it has improved. Ryan is a pretty good singer. but more than that he could tell you who sings every song. he knows almost every singer and every band and what they sing.

Who pays the bills? He does. I love it.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me.

Who mows the lawn? Ryan does. I have to say I have never mowed the lawn, payed a bill or changed the oil in the car, but on the flip side, Ryan has never cleaned the bathroom, folded the laundry, and rarely loads the dishwasher. I think we have just really become set in our own little jobs, and that works great for us. and I should say he does help out with a lot of other jobs around the house, he always vacuums and if he's home at bed time he always bathes the kids and brushed their teeth, just those top 3 are the ones that have kind-of become mine.
Who cooks dinner? Both or maybe I should say neither. I hardly ever cook a full meal because the kids (and Ryan)are so picky that it's a big waste. so we usually have really simple meals, like grilled cheese, pancakes, and on a big night spaghetti. You may be judging me buy you try throwing away meal after meal (or eating the whole thing yourself) and then see how motivated you are. .

Who drives? Definitely Ryan, those of you who know me know I can't drive, and those of you who know Ryan know he has control issues (only with driving) and that he couldn't handle being in the car when I drive. it was funny, we drove through the night to Utah over Christmas, and finally at 5 in the morning Ryan was so tired that he let me drive so he could sleep. That only lasted like a half and hour because he couldn't handle my swerving all over the road.

Who is more stubborn? Depends on who you ask, but I say HIM, hands down.

Who kissed who first? I kissed Ryan first, it's funny he was so shy, I think that's something I really liked about him, he was just so sweet and Innocent.

Who asked who out? Ryan asked me out. we were both working at the mall across the hall from each other, and he would come over and visit, then he came to get his hair cut at my school, and finally he asked me out. I really wondered if he was ever going to ask me out because he was more shy about it. but again that's why I liked him.

Who proposed? he did. and it would have been a total surprise, but I just showed up at his house when he was planning a romantic picnic, and Alex ran out and said hey Katie I just saw your ring, then Shawn punched him in the arm. then Ryan was suddenly ready for a picnic. it was sweet, and the whole time we were on the picnic I was trying to act natural, while I was thinking (come on already give me the ring)

Who has more siblings? Ryan he had 8 and I have 4, and I love every one of them

Who wears the pants? The trick is to let him think he does...am I right? (very good answer Holly I'm going with that one)

Ryan is a great Husband and a great dad. I'm so grateful to have found him. I feel like he has helped me grow in so many ways. it's so funny because we are so opposite, and while trying not to sound super cheesy I think we complete each other, and help each others weaknesses become our strengths. I am so proud of him and how hard of a worker he is. He never complains about all he has on his shoulders. and he truly is super helpful with the kids and house work.
I feel like the longer we are married the more we are able to appreciate each other, but also we are able to just laugh with each other. I feel like our relationship has grown so much stronger now from the day we were married. I love you Ryan.

ok so I am tagging Lindsey, Ashley, Betsy, Jen, and Suzy

Heart Attack, I've got the best of both worlds

ok so I just had to show you how this heart hiding game got a little out of hand. it was so funny ALL day Bailee was begging me to hide more hearts. but it was so funny because she would do anything for me if I would hide her hearts. I got her to clean her room, eat all her lunch, and clean the toy room it was great. I think we'll be finding random hearts until easter, which makes me think since she liked finding just paper hearts so much maybe I'll just hide paper eggs.
Oh and this dollar she is holding (she wanted to make sure it was in the picture) Is a special Valentines day dollar from her grandma Bullock. her and Tyson were so excited about them all day yesterday they were playing "store" and would buy stuff around the house with their dollar, and today I promised them we could go to the dollar store and spend it. so thanks Grandma you made their day.

One more funny story that I'm sad to say totally made my day. This was so funny, yesterday I went to pick up the kids from preschool and there was a 3year old little girl that was with her mom, and she came up to me with star struck eyes and asked if I was Hanna Montanan. I know it's just because I have blond hair, but I'll take what I can get. and I've been told I look like much worse than that. So I was proud to look like a 14 year old pop star.
so if any of your kids would like an autograph or a free show just give me a call. Remember I've got the best of both worlds, chillin out take it slow then I rock out the show.
(I don't know what's more depressing that I know that whole song or that I'm excited that I was compared to her.)

Happy Valentines Day

Ok, so I just wanted to show you all this cute Valentines day idea that I copied from my friend Jen. I just cut out a bunch of hearts and hid them all over the house and the kids have been finding them everywhere, then when they find them I just have them stick them on their door. They totally love this. all day they have been looking for hearts. it was so fast and easy and a cheep way to celebrate. Thanks Jen for the cute idea. another idea she had was to catch them showing love to others and then write what they did on a heart and put that heart on a "love wall", I might give that one a try tomorrow. although I should have started that one on Monday

This is just a picture I threw in of sweet Davis. The poor guy is so sick, he's got a nasty cold. he can't even cry because he's lost his voice, so his cry is more of a whisper it's so sad. He didn't sleep very well yesterday or last night, but today all he has done is sleep, hopefully he is getting better. I hate when my kids get sick. Today he has been so happy and sweet even when he's sick what a sweetheart.

HInckley poem

so I was snooping around on other people's blogs again. and I found this cute poem about President Hinckley

I imagine he's running to Marjorie now,
Yes, running, not waving his cane.
I see him embracing his father and mother
While they keep repeating his name.

I see him now meeting his forebears,
Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.
Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service
That only such noble men share.

I see him embraced by the Savior
While Father says, "Good and well done.
So faithful in stalwart endurance,
I welcomeMy noble, most excellent son."

I then hear the ripples of laughter
As he says the reception's just fine,
But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two
Since there's no need to waste any time.

I can hear his clear voice in the stillness
At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,
Have faith and move forward.
There's work to be done.
President Hinckley would want it that way.

Davis is 3 months.

Ok. so I still need help doing the whole picture collage thing, I need someone to physically show me how to do it. but here is Davis at 3 months. I think it's funny to see that he progressively gets balder each picture.
He has been such an angel of a baby. He adds so much to our family. he is so happy and always smiling. and he is already sleeping a 6 hour stretch in the night (knock on wood). It is so fun to watch him grow. I am so shocked at how fast it's going. It does make me a little sad at how fast this baby stage goes by.
Ryan and I were just talking last night about how blessed we have been. I was a little worried how the adjustment would be with 3 kids, no family around and Ryan at school all day and working late hours. I have to say I think this baby has been the easiest adjustment so far. He truly is just a joy in our life. It's so nice to just be able to enjoy him in all his cuteness and his fun stages. and the kids have been so cute and sweet with him. all in all we are so happy and grateful for our precious little addition.

Fun Birthday,Mom, more snow

So first of all, thank you for all of your nice comments. I was in comment heaven, and they meant a lot to me. They made for a great birthday!!!! it was so much fun, My mom was able to fly out over the weekend and we had such a good time. She got here Friday night and we all went out to dinner at a pizza place. Saturday morning her and I woke up early and spent the whole day shopping. We got to check out all of the good deals Spokane has to offer. then went to lunch. We got home at about 5:00 and I went straight to dinner with Ryan to do some more celebrating, while she watched the kids. then Sunday I was able to pig out on a lovely cake she made for me. and yesterday I was able to get a little more shopping in before she left. I was sad to see her go after such a fun weekend.
Ryan was a sweetheart he watched the kids all day to let me shop, and he scored some extra points with me (and I think all of my friends) with that sweet blog. so thanks Ry.
And mom thanks for everything. I love getting spoiled. it was so fun to have you. we all miss you already. it was so worth the 3 pounds I gained.
Bailee was also so sad to see her grandma sally go. Last night she told me she wished we could build a time Machine and go back to yesterday everyday, so she could be with grandma all of the time.

I don't know why it's so fun to post these pictures. they are ones that Bailee once again took her self. I just think it's so funny when I go through the camera and find all of these random pictures that she took.

ok so up above is last weeks snow, and down below is yesterdays snow. Seriously who's up for Arizona???
These next 3 pictures are in story order.

1st, this is the snow man the kids built.
2nd this is the snow man after Tyson thought it would be fun to wrestle him
3rd, this is Bailee lying face down in the snow because she is devastated about the broken snow. she was honestly like that for like 5 minutes.
this last picture is my home made boots. I was pretty impressed with myself, I didn't want get my shoes dripping wet, so I put these garbage bags over them with a rubber band and it totally worked. white trash I know (literally)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!!!

Hi this is Ryan and I thought I would post about Katie today since it is her 27th Birthday. I am sure a lucky guy to have such an awesome wife. She is a great example to me and always willing to support me in anything that I do, be it running, school, church or fun. She puts up with me and all my flaws and is quick to forgive and forget. I could not ask for a better partner or mom for our kids. I really love her. Katie is such a great mom and is always thinking of fun things to do with the kids and there is never a day that goes by without them having something fun or exciting to do. Katie is always thinking of other people and will go out of her way to help other people feel included and welcome. She has an awesome outgoing personality that brings excitement and funny stories to any party. Katie is patient, kind, loving, exciting, caring, tender, supportive, tenderhearted, outgoing, thoughtful and most of all the best wife a guy could ask for. Happy Birthday Katie you are amazing. I love you.
