We had such a fun Christmas this year. and the kids were so cute. I love how excited they get for Santa. Bailee was particularly observant (as usual) and noticed that we have the same wrapping paper as Santa. she is so funny. Here is our yesterday's conversation
Me: please wear your new outfit, I just bought it.
Bailee: ummm you didn't buy it, Santa did
Me: (thinking oh shoot, how do I cover this) well Santa gives you some of your presents, and I give you some.
Bailee: ya mom but this present said from Santa on it.
Me: oh, maybe that one was santa's
I swear I'll be lucky if she lasts one more year. she's just too darn observant for her own good.
Tyson was concerned that santa wouldn't be able to get through our fire place because it's covered with glass. sure enough Christmas morning they ran and looked at the glass door to make sure it was opened by Santa.
I want to tell you one more sweet conversation that Bailee and Tyson had.
a little background. the other night Bailee woke up crying. Tyson was sleeping in her room on the pull out bed.
Bailee: hey Tyson did you know last night while I was sleeping you came and laid by me.
Tyson: oh ya, that's because you were crying so I wanted to snuggle by you to make you feel better.
I thought it was so sweet.
one more last cute conversation
Tyson: mom, are we made from glue?
me: no
Ty: well then how did Heavenly Father put all of us together?
side note: these pictures all go backwards from Christmas back
Uncle Tyler pulled all of the grand kids around the neighborhood on a sled. they had a blast
Christmas day at Grandma Sally's and papa's house here's their awesome presents
the 3 babies got rocking horsed. Davis loved his.
Christmas morning it snowed so much that after shoveling the sidewalks all of the boys made an igloo for the kids to play in.
Here's the kids with their new presents.
Christmas morning before the kids woke up. and here is our home made decorations for the tree.the kids in their new Christmas Jammies
Here is the Christmas eve Party at Grandma Mac's Here is Me and Shelbs and Me and Natalie
I love davis's face in this picture.
Last week we got to go and see some of our friends who we just love. Lewis and JJ. they were in town for the Holidays. they now live in Alabama. it was so fun to get together with them. our kids are all about the same ages. they had so much fun together.
Ryan ran with Lewis at BYU and the 4 of us used to have the funnest time. Before we understood what freedom was with no kids. (not that I'd trade my kids, but I wish I would have appriciated those days a little more) we would have a game night almost every night, and always eat at each others houses. we sure miss those guys and it was so fun to see them.
The week before Christmas we had the kids color pictures and make cookies. We meant to take them to an old folks home, but mistakenly went to a home for the mentally handicap. we had kind-of prepped them that they were going to see Grandma's and Grandpa's, so I was a little nervous how they would react. we tried to hurry and explain to them that these are nice people that just sometimes can't control their bodies and sometimes make loud noises. The kids were a little timed but I think they did great. they passed out all of their pictures. and they had fun visiting the guests that could talk. I was proud of them. After we were done Bailee and Ashlyn wanted to go and see the Grandma's and Grandpa's they were really excited to go and visit them. I was so bummed we didn't ever make it to see them. I really want to do something like this again next year. I think the kids really enjoyed it, and I think it gave them an idea about what Christmas is really about.

SUPER COOL!
OK so if you were wondering what we did for our super cool week then you've come to the right place. Super cool Ryan has been obsessed with doing rubix cubes???? like I said super cool!!!
he bought one last week and he's been figuring it out all week long. he's even got his dad in on the action. he'll get it all finished and then let me (the super cool assistant) mix it all up again so he can figure it out again.
I guess that's what we look forward to now that were pushing 30. he's got it down to about 3 minutes.
when I wasn't busy mixing up the rubix cubes I was working on these darling nativity puppets. my sister in law (Jordan) had them and I loved them so I copied them, they were actually really easy they are just made out of felt. I was really happy with how they turned out. (and to stick with my theam I'll say they are Super Cool)
Last night was really fun. Betsy held our annual friends Christmas party. I love these parties. it's so fun to see everyone and just laugh our heads off. We play a fun white Elephant game. everyone brings one white elephant and one $10.00 gift. so you never know if you'll end up with a good gift or the white elephant. I was pretty happy we scored double. we ended up with a gift card to Chick Fila and the complete first season on 90210.(we actually started watching it today and it is so hilarious I love their outfits and cell phones)
and I was glad to redeem myself from the last party. last year my $10 gift was a box of chocolates and everyone thought it was one of the white elephants and no one wanted it. so I had all kinds of anxiety picking out this years gift. don't worry thought my gift was stolen twice. Never again will I be the crapy $10 gift bringer.
and here is the kids playing in the snow. they raced home from church and put their snow clothes on and went out and played for a couple of hours. They can't wait for the snow man making snow.

Christmas activities and fun kid stories.
last Thursday we went down to Temple Square to see the lights. Even though it was pretty cold the kids still had a great time.
you may be wondering how old Bailee and Tyson are because they are in strollers (they are 4 and 6) we had extra's and they begged us to let them in.
here's all the grand kids. and here is uncle Ry Ry with Davis and Tyson. he was so cute to come and meet us, and the kids were so excited to see him. and of course happy little Davis. He loved looking at all of the lights. and just going for a ride in the stroller.
we parked a couple of blocks from the temple and just road the Traxs in. the kids thought it was really fun. although Tyson was scared he thought it was going to be a train ride, and train rides are one of the MILLION things that he is afraid of. another one, he was scared all day to go and see the lights. luckily when we got there he finally realized that it was fun.
We put our tree up last Monday for family night. it has been so fun for me and the kids. our tree and all of it's decorations are all in storage. so we have been making all kinds of paper decorations for it. it's still a work in progress so I'll have to show you the final product.
and last I wanted to tell you some cute and sweet things the kids have been doing. a few weeks ago while at church bailee cut out this heart and wrote "from Bailee" on it. anyways, she's been doing secret acts of kindness and then leaving this heart behind. for example the other day I was bathing Davis and I asked Ryan to go and get me some pj's and a diaper. I see someone sneak into the bathroom and put the jammies on the floor with the heart. another day I went into my room and someone made my bed and put that little heart on my pillow. Bailee really is such a sweetheart. I need to remember this when she is being extra "independent"
today after church I came in the kitchen and found her setting the table and asked what she was doing. she started to cry and told me she wanted to surprise me by setting the table. what a sweet girl.
ok now for Tyson. last week for FHE Ryan's mom had us all think of gifts that we could give to Jesus for Christmas, then we wrote them on paper and we will open them on Christmas. Tyson wrote that he wants to "give happiness" an "be a good boy" anyways I just thought it was sweet, the next day at preschool he got a treat and when he got in the car he shared it with Bailee, I told him that it was really nice that he was sharing his treat and he told me
"ya mom, remember my present to Jesus, I really want to be a good boy."
these are the paybacks that make me so happy to be a mom. what sweet kids.
I got this picture from my sister-in-laws blog. I just wanted to add it. to show you our thankful turkey. and tell you what Bailee and Tyson are thankful for. Bailee is thankful for "uthrz" and Tyson is thankful for "myself".
